What Is Pupil Premium Funding?
Pupil Premium is money school receives in addition to the basic funding received for individual children. The criteria for receiving Pupil Premium funding is the following:
Children in receipt of Free School Meals or been in receipt of Free School Meals in the past 6 years
Children in Care or who have been under the care of the Local Authority for 1 day or more
Children adopted from care under the Adoption from Care act (2002) or those who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residential Care Order
The Pupil Premium is funding in addition to the school’s budget. Schools are free to decide how to allocate this funding to best support the raising of attainment for the most vulnerable pupils.
